Owned by Dr. Rahim Rhemtulla, Chinook Eyecare is a locally owned and operated office of optometry located in Calgary’s shopping destination, Chinook Centre. Our policy is to take care of our patients and to ensure that all optometrists and staff members are up-to-date on the latest eye care technologies and techniques. This will ensure your visit with us is as comfortable and thorough as possible.
Our doctors are highly trained professionals. With the aid of our state of the art equipment, we will provide you with a thorough and informative eye exam. We will be attentive to your concerns and take care of your visual requirements and needs.
Our Technology

Ocular health diagnosis is always changing. New and modern technologies allow our doctors the ability to diagnose and manage our patients eyes more accurately than ever before.
Certain eye disease and injuries are sometimes irreversible. With our advanced equipment and technology, we are able to provide our patients the best care possible.
Our practice has a number of diagnostic equipment that enables us to diagnose and monitor many ocular conditions. Some of which include Glaucoma, Macular degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy and numerous others.
We also have a retinal camera and OCT which allows us to take images of the retina and sensory layers of the retina allowing us the ability to also monitor change over time. The details in these cameras and sensory imaging techniques allows us to address any concerns we may have.
There will be no pain or discomfort with your visit as our procedures are non-evasive.
Our Doctors
Dr. Rahim Rhemtulla
Dr. Rahim Rhemtulla has been practicing Optometry since 2010. He is a member of the Alberta College Of Optometrists and Alberta Association Of Optometrists.
Dr. Rhemtulla is passionate about the profession and enjoys seeing patients of all ages. He also enjoys all aspects of patient care with emphasis on Ocular Disease, Pediatrics and Contact Lenses.
He is dedicated to provide patients with the best possible comprehensive eye exams and enjoys the challenges that Optometry has to offer. He loves helping people and is excited to look after your visual needs. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends. He is also an avid sports fan and enjoys watching his favorite hockey team…The Calgary Flames.
Dr. Kirstie Du
Dr. Kirstie Du was born and raised in Calgary. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Calgary before graduating with honours from the Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. She is a registered member of both the Alberta College and Association of Optometrists.
Dr. Du enjoys all aspects of optometry - from primary care, to ocular health visits, to contact lens appointments. She believes the best part of her job is to be able to meet and work with patients from all age ranges and backgrounds. Her goal is to ensure all patients leave feeling confident that their eyes are well cared for!
In her spare time, Dr. Du enjoys hiking, trying new food, and spending time with her family, friends, and dog!

1) Eye Exams
At Chinook Eyecare, we offer eye exams for the whole family. Click below to see what is involved in each type:
We currently accepting new patients and offer same-day and walk-in eye exams.
2) Contact Lens Exams
The doctor will fit you with contact lenses and a solution care system if needed depending on lens of choice. A follow-up appointment is made to ensure the contact lenses fit the way they need to and are sufficient for the patient’s lifestyle and needs. Future contact lens purchases can soon be reordered on our website and be delivered to you. The contact lenses we carry can correct all types of visual needs and demands including multifocal and astigmatism correction.
First time contact lens wearers will be trained on proper lens insertion, removal and the appropriate care of contact lenses. A follow up appointment is made after training to ensure the contacts are the right fit.
We will take the time to ensure you get the best comfort and vision possible.
3) Dry Eye Treatment:
Many Canadians - especially Albertans - experience dry eye symptoms. It is very common for us to see. Depending on the environment that you are in, the symptoms can vary. It is important to confirm the symptoms you are experiencing is dry eye and not another condition with similar type symptoms. Once our doctors diagnose dry eye, depending on the severity, we will recommend treatment options.
4) Eye Emergencies
Eye emergencies are always a worrying type of experience. Types of emergencies include: infections, red eyes, eye pain, embedded foreign body material, chemical burn, Trauma, and loss of vision.
If you are concerned about any eye emergency, be sure to call our office and we will see you the same day to evaluate your eye health.
5) Laser Surgery Consultation/Co-Management
We also offer In-office pre and post laser vision correction services.
